Knowte Transcribe
Capture a thought, conversation or meeting, turn it into accurate text, then format it into the document you actually need.
How Knowte works
- Choose or add a processing account in API Settings. On supported devices you can use Apple Intelligence on-device, or connect a compatible cloud provider with your own credentials.
- Choose a formatting instruction set—or create one for meeting notes, clean transcripts, emails, technical documentation, recipes, summaries or another workflow.
- Record in Knowte, import an audio file, or import text from another transcription source.
- Transcribe and format. Knowte keeps the raw transcript and the formatted result so you can return to either.
Recording
Tap the microphone button to begin. You can pause, resume and stop from the app. On supported iPhones, a Live Activity provides recording controls while the phone is locked. The companion Apple Watch app can also control an active recording on the paired phone.
Recordings can continue when the app moves to the background or the phone locks. If a recording remains paused for five minutes, Knowte stops and saves it automatically to protect the audio already captured.
You can save or share the original audio from a recording. Paused recording segments are combined into one saved recording.
Transcription and formatting accounts
Knowte is designed around user-controlled accounts. It supports Apple Intelligence where the required on-device features are available, plus compatible OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, Google Gemini, Microsoft Azure OpenAI and generic endpoints.
Cloud providers require their own account, credentials and billing arrangement. Knowte sends requests directly from your device to the account and endpoint you select; account credentials are stored in the Apple Keychain and are not sent to LoveBuzz.
Improving results
Formatting instruction sets tell the language model what you want returned. Each recording remembers its selected instruction set, and you can change it from the recording menu before reformatting.
Transcription keyword hints can help supported models recognise names and specialist vocabulary. Knowte only sends hints to provider/model combinations known to support them.
Use Retranscribe to process saved audio again with the currently selected account and transcription model. Use Reformat to run the existing transcript through the current account and the recording's selected instruction set. Lock a transcription to disable both actions and prevent accidental changes.
Organising and exporting
Search recordings, rename them, apply folders and tags, and review earlier transcript versions. Formatted Markdown is rendered as a document in the app.
Audio can be saved or shared. Transcripts can be exported as plain text, Markdown, PDF or Microsoft Word `.docx` files using the system share or save panel.
Privacy
Your recordings and transcripts remain on your device unless you choose a cloud processing operation, export or share them. The iPhone and iPad app includes a Google AdMob banner, but Knowte does not send recordings, transcripts, credentials or formatting instructions to Google for advertising.
